Master by Mixed-Mode
Master of Science (Marine Science)

This programme is the one of postgraduate programme which is designed based on the current needs of the marine industry and Industrial Relations 4.0 (IR4.0) for Malaysia. The aims of this program is to produce knowledgeable and competent graduates in data management and analyses, research and environmental management in marine science

Objectives:

  • Graduates will be professional practitioners in the field of marine science and technology
  • Graduates will continue to pursue suitable lifelong learning for a career in industry or academic related to marine science and technology
  • Graduates are able to contribute to sustainable development and community wellbeing in the field of marine science and technology

  • Marine Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship
  • Dissertation

Entry Requirements

  • Qualification Requirements

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours not less than 3.0 CGPA in related field of study or an equivalent degree; OR other qualifications approved by the Senate from time to time.
However, applicants with a Bachelor Degree with CGPA of 2.7 to 2.99 can also be considered, but he/she must fulfill at least ONE (1) of the following criteria: Has working experience in related field; OR, has one (1) ISI publication; OR, a scholarship holder; OR, a UM graduate.

  • Language Requirements

Foreign candidates are required to:
Have at least IELTS Band 6 or TOEFL 550 if their first degree is from a university where English is not the medium of instruction; OR pass an English proficiency test approved by the University.

Intake schedule

The intake is in the first semester (September) and the second semester (February) of every session.
